Terms of Service
By using Kaya you agree to these terms.
1. What Kaya is
Kaya is a household expense tracker that captures expenses from multiple sources (a quick note, receipt scan, Apple Pay shortcut, email forwarding, Siri, and the optional Telegram bot and REST API) and lets you query, reconcile, and report on them. Kaya is a product of lahbacana. It is not a regulated financial service.
2. Account responsibility
- You are responsible for what you log. Kaya does not verify, audit, or guarantee the accuracy of any expense or balance.
- Keep your password secret. We will never ask for it by email or chat.
- One household per account. You may invite members to your household and revoke them.
3. Price
- Kaya is currently free, with every feature included, including AI-powered capture.
- We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, pricing will be shown before any purchase and announced in advance, and your existing data will never be held hostage.
- Any future paid subscriptions would be billed through the Apple App Store and subject to Apple's terms, including auto-renewal and Apple's refund policy.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't use Kaya to log activity that isn't your own without the account owner's consent (for example, forwarding someone else's bank emails to your alias).
- Don't attempt to overwhelm the service, bypass rate limits, or reverse-engineer the app.
- Don't upload content you don't have the right to upload (for example, receipts containing other people's identifiers).
5. The iOS app and Apple's EULA
The Kaya iOS app is licensed, not sold, to you. Your use of it is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Where these terms and Apple's standard EULA differ for the iOS app, Apple's standard EULA applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and is not a party to these terms.
6. Service reliability
Kaya is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it running but make no uptime promise. We are not liable for missed expense logging, lost data, or financial decisions you make based on Kaya's reports.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time (Settings, Account, Delete). We may suspend an account that violates these terms, with at least one prior notice by email except in cases of abuse or legal compulsion.
8. Changes
Material changes will be announced in-app at least 30 days before they take effect.
